Clarence, I'm so sorry you had that stroke, AND especially glad you were able to get the vehicle stopped with no one getting hurt. That was surely a blessing!
Those assisted living centers are much better than going straight into a nursing home, at least quite a few of my friends believe that gives them more freedom, yet more security as they lose some mobility, or vision, etc.
It's like the one at Philip, SD, there is no shortage of activities and help with getting out into the community for various events.
Valentine is such a pretty town. And was the scene of one of our 'small world' events back in January as we were off on a journey to TX. Stopping at that nice café down on the hiway on the south side of town, some folks exiting as we entered spoke to us, and confused me a bit. I am accustomed to seeing them in Napoleon, ND, not in Valentine! They were travelling to a family wedding in NE. Such fun having an unexpected visit with them! We will probably see them early in May when we go to the Dahl Family bull sale in Napoleon, an event we haven't missed in many years. They are neighbors of the Dahls and all live near Gackle. Don't we have some unique names for our towns, though?
I hope that place begins to feel like home to you real soon.
