Am I correct that it seems we have lost a large number of people?

As old as I am if I can figure out the new forum it would seem anybody can.

I do miss the internet notifications! But much of the rest seems to be an improvement after you spend a little time in figuring out the differences.

I am on facebook but I prefer Ranchers as most of the people I know on facebook do not know what end of a cow to feed!

I frequent another AG site, much more traffic and more helpful content. I'm not saying this site is bad I just learn more there.

I am back on ranchers net, at least to browse. I am living in Cherry Hills Eststes asisted living here in Valentine again. I had what they call a mimi-stroke I am doing pretty good. I am able to walk and get around again
but have to live here
This thing happened to me while I was driving. I was on my way to see the dentist. Among other things, I became confused. it was scary. I believe my guarding angle was with me that morning.

I hope they are taking good care of you there, Clarencen. My wife is the head cook at the assisted living here. If the residents had their way, she'd be the only cook they have.

Facebook has allowed me to connect with friends I had in college but had lost touch with. I've also made some new friends that are pretty special people. I don't like the new set up here, but I don't have to. We can all come & go as we please. I wanna hang around and see what Bucki does next. ;)

Good to hear from you Clarence, glad you have a good place to hang your hat and have the care you need.

Keep in touch.

While FB does take a portion of the time once used on Ranchers, doubling our cow herd since I joined here is an honest excuse for not spending as much time here.

That and yer getting to be an old Fart that needs more sleep :cboy:

Clarence, I'm so sorry you had that stroke, AND especially glad you were able to get the vehicle stopped with no one getting hurt. That was surely a blessing!

Those assisted living centers are much better than going straight into a nursing home, at least quite a few of my friends believe that gives them more freedom, yet more security as they lose some mobility, or vision, etc.

It's like the one at Philip, SD, there is no shortage of activities and help with getting out into the community for various events.

Valentine is such a pretty town. And was the scene of one of our 'small world' events back in January as we were off on a journey to TX. Stopping at that nice café down on the hiway on the south side of town, some folks exiting as we entered spoke to us, and confused me a bit. I am accustomed to seeing them in Napoleon, ND, not in Valentine! They were travelling to a family wedding in NE. Such fun having an unexpected visit with them! We will probably see them early in May when we go to the Dahl Family bull sale in Napoleon, an event we haven't missed in many years. They are neighbors of the Dahls and all live near Gackle. Don't we have some unique names for our towns, though?

I hope that place begins to feel like home to you real soon.

That too. :D

Glad to hear from you Clarence. Thankfully it was a "mini-stroke" and you are mobile again.
I know when my grandfather went into the home he was rather down about the deal. Didn't take long before he realized that the place was full of old acquaintances he hadn't seen in years so he ended up quite enjoying his time there.
