What about a transplant from Nebraska to bubbaland southeast Texas??? Now that's an accent! I know..my brother is a transplant and has lived there about 10yrs now,,and I can hardly understand him on the phone sometimes..lol Plus he won't come visit in the wintertime anymore...can't take the cold...lol :lol:

Accents are a weird thing.....I've lived in Texas now for 6 years. But when I talk to someone for the first time they say where you from and I tell them orignally South Dakota and they go AH HA! Thats the accent you have! What????? Now while I was living in South Dakota and you told me I had an accent I'd of called you a liar, but after living in Texas for 6 years and when I go home...trust me South Dakotans have accents. But also when I go home they tell me I sound like a Texan.....so i dunno what the hell kind of accent I have!
 
I guess when you move from one place to another you'll pick up bits and pieces of the accent of the localilty.
