After cleaning the nut, I slice them pretty thin, dip in milk and egg, roll in cracker or bread crumbs mixed with lawry's seasoning salt, and deep fry or pan fry till crispy. If you are doing a big batch and want to freeze them, clean the nut, freeze a little to make it stiff, slice with a meat slicer, lay on cookie sheets and place in freezer for a while to make them solid, then dump into freezer bags. They wont stick together then, and can easily be taken out to cook how ever many you want, and the rest put back in freezer. When I lived in SD, we would have wild game feeds and such that every rancher in the area would save the nuts..have one big party night for cleaning them, and one big party night for cooking them. We would serve over 750 people...THOSE WERE THE GOOOOD OLE DAYS!!
