Question about feed

We've never seen corn close to what board price is. Also I would never or have never feed whole corn to cattle. As some have said it looks the same coming out the rear as it does going in the front end.

Truckers have to make a living as do the mills. Not saying I agree but everyone has to get theirs....

For whole corn? Thats 2.30 a bushel over chicago board of trade. You must be a long ways from any corn field.

Yes that is for whole corn and last year corn was hauled less than 20 miles to the mill and it was over $2 higher than board price.

I've fed both ways and the gain was nearly the same on both sets of cattle they claim the corn may look whole but the gut's of the kernel have been digested by the animal. Either way if faced with the option I'll have it ground.I mix it with dried distillers and it blend's better in the bunk if the corn is ground a bit finer but with the TMR it gets blended with corn silage which helps keep it from blowing away.

I've only fed a couple semi loads of corn but I like it whole as i feed it out on the ground and they pick up every kernel and it doesn't blow away or mush up like pellets when it's a bit wet. Maybe don't get everything out of the kernel but I am only supplementing the energy not feeding to fatten.
