Today, about 120 combines gathered on a farm about 25 miles from our place and harvested 160 acre of soybeans in 11min. 43.59 seconds, narrowly missing setting a new record for 160 acres harvested.
There was a huge crowd (well over 1000) on hand to watch and later participate in the auctioning off of the crop to raise money for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. The goal was to raise $200,000, which would be matched 4:1 by the federal government. All crop inputs and harvest costs were donated.
