Quite a Monday

Well, today Mom and Dad celebrate 18 years of marriage. They enjoyed a nice evening together. One of my friends also celebrated a birthday today. But the best part yet, we had a bull out today. Where I work for my boss, he's the third in a line of 80 acre fenced sections along a road. On the other side of the road are poor fences and lots of cows. We're running a few head on the opposite end parcel. So our little bull decided to escape yesterday and go over to my boss's place. There was a steer there, and he got riled up. Well, we sent the bull back home and fixed the fence. Today, my boss calls saying our bull is back over at his place. He just got done hauling his only steer to the locker, so the pens were empty. To make a long story short, I saddled my pony, went over and gathered the bull, and got him hauled back home to secure fences and electric wire. Hopefully he'll relearn how to respect fences. :shock: :D Anyway, all this excitement has me about wore out. I think I'll hit the sack.

Well, it's not every day I get out of school to play cowboy! :lol: Just a good excuse to go ride. Well, we were needing to pul him off cows anyway (even we don't want them this late, but it's just been easier to run 'em in with the cows) so we went ahead and did it. Too bad he's the only Angus bull we have around. Not to mention the best. :wink:

Oh, we are leasing that place for a couple months for some of our purebreds. The guy who owns it has horses, so it's four smooth wires. Not only that, the fence is poorly built and not exactly tight. It takes a pretty honest cow to stay in. But this bull is one that you can walk up and rub in the pasture, so he was OK for about a month before this.
