Rain on the roof

We hadn't had any rain here for over a month. But then on Wednesday night we had .80 then last night we got 2.60. To late for most dry land crops but deffinantly great for every thing else. Couldn't be happier. Isn't it funny how a good rain can change your mood when you super dry?

We didn't get anything here at the house. Not sure how much was up at our north place, but I was going the wrong direction in my Gator. Pretty well got soaked by the time I made it back to the pickup and trailer. We have had over a half an inch of rain every week for the last 3 weeks. Our grass looks better then I have ever seen it. We do have half the numbers so we should have grass

Had a fair shower here yesterday about 11 AM too. Brought the month's rainfall a little above average, and we still have a few days to go. Looks like a fair chance of rain most every day for the next week.

Looked a bit dry here about the 4th of July as we didn't get our June moisture, but had a good carry over from May. Everything is turning out real well so far.

Half an inch of rain every day for the last 3 weeks. That is just about perfect. Too bad a person can't count on that every year. But then, we wouldn't appreciate it as we do know.

We hadn't had any moisture for 2 weeks, then on Monday we got .25" and on Wednesday evening a thunderstorm rolled in and we got .10". Other places got up to .30. Every little bit helps. We've never had the hay stay so green as it has this year.

Interesting that yesterday we were 79 degrees, but north of Missoula, Mt. they got up to 96. It's usually much cooler there than here. Not this year.

It was only 41 degrees this morning early. The guys were wearing their coats. Even Mr. FH, who loves cool weather said it was a bit too chilly!
We get a hot day and then it cools right off. It's been so nice. Everything shows it, too. The grass, the cattle, the creeks. Wonderful! Thank you, God.

Plumb nippy this morning- 45 here.... Still only 58 at 11 AM...
We've been getting lots of moisture but the drawback is it is coming mostly in thunderstorms which have been bringing tornado's and bad hail... Wiping out a lot of beautiful crops...
Wednesday night we had storms all over the eastern part of the state- with some packing some long swaths of golfball size hail...
We lucked out again- and got very little hail (few pea sized came straight down)- but picked up another .65 of rain..

I have to agree- the grass, the cattle, the creeks look great... I think this is the best wheat crops I've ever seen in my lifetime... If we can just beat the white reaper...

Been over in Bozeman for a week....have taken a few drives to ranchin` country & the grass looks good for now but I`m betting folks would appreciate some moisture here. Temps have been up in the 90`s everyday. Back home in southern Alberta the weather has been whacky....reports of a small tornado along with some hail a few days ago & cool showery days. Got my hay cut & baled in what was a brief window of perfect haying weather so got lucky!
