Was down at the barn this morning milking my Jersey and helping hubby get things done.
After we left I got in the truck and realized my wedding band was gone. I must of turned pure white, because hubby gave me a funny look.

Went and checked the cows and all I could keep thinking was please let me have left it in the bathroom.
Got back to the house and sure enough I had left it by the sink when I washed my hands so I could put in my contacts.

told hubby what happened. Told me to go take a nap and I might be able to remember things better.

back in the day before 5th wheels, everybody that trucked cattle had a 2 ton truck with a stock rack. One neighbors wife was up on the side shen jump down with out her ring finger. Wedding band caught had on a bolt .
So be happy you still have both your ring and finger.

I saw the same thing happen when in the Army. A buddy's ring hung up on a dumpster, and lost his finger. I won't wear a ring because of that. I've lost one finger already, and I'm kinda proud of what I've got left. Wife knew & understood this before the wedding. She bought a band for me anyway, but its still in a box one the dresser.

used to wear one, but had my arm in alot of cows and ewes one spring, washing in snow all day , then get home at night in was a mess under the ring... it is back in its box.

Glad you found yours ILH!

I haven't worn mine in years, except on special occasions (when I remember). DH kept telling me to leave it in the jewelery box, after all can't wear them when pulling calves. So I'd take it off an put in my jeans pocket. Finally figured if I kept that up I would lose it sooner or later and I decided to heed his advice....

I haven't worn mine in years, either not even at the dairy ,just too many things to get hung up on. A few years ago the chute handle slammed down on my ring finger and cut it to the bone, vet said had I been wearing a band my finger would have been gone. I still have a big bump from where the bone was fractured .

Glad you found it ILH but maybe you should think about leaving it in the house JIC . Sometimes the unexpected happens and what we do is dangerous enough without adding complications .

I take it off when I am pulling a calf or working around any equipment that has moving parts. Gotta a jar at the barn just for it in case a calf has to be pulled.
Running the grain auger always makes me nervous so it is off during harvest.
Only changed the oil once wearing it. Took forever to clean it.

That's a pretty fancy ring if you gotta change the oil in it!  Glad you found it even though it wasn't lost!

I was 9, wheat harvest going full blast, dad jumped off truck, ring caught , lost finger and ring. drove a 55 deere combine no cab, heck no shade for ever seemed like.

About three months after we were married, I was making bread, and had my diamond wedding rings in my pocket. Hubby blasted through the door "Cows are out!" So off I go to help get them in. Got back to the house.

No rings. Never saw them again. I was just sick over it.

Lucky I had already lost my plain gold wedding band, and later found it under the fridge. :?   I haven't taken that off in so long that now I can't get it off.

when my father lost his arm in a corn picker,,it was still attached by some skin upon arriving at the hospital.the doctor finished removing the arm from his body,,then removed the ring and handed it to my mother.saying, you might want to keep this,he won't need it on this hand anymore. i will never forget this story that i learned as a young lad.
