Okra good, fried, pickled , boiled........now I'm hungry.......
Slice them like you would carrot or squash circles, about 1/8" thick, and then I put on olive oil then coat with cornmeal and sprinkle on some salt and pepper and fry them till they are golden brown. I use a nonstick skillet that is coated with olive oil. You can use any breading and breading technique or even fry them without, but more golden crisp breading and less okra is a win win in my book. How do you fry an okra?
No for the rancher unless it is mountain oyster stew.oyster stew, celery and onions? yes-no?
old time general store out in ranch country used to get barrels of oysters in the shell, seems growing up all the parents and old folks had oyster stew on Christmas eve, or Christmas. We got the milk broth and lots of crackersNo for the rancher, yes for the coastal fishermen.
now north and north east of me instead of oyster stew it is Lutefisk, to that I will say NO thank youNo for the rancher unless it is mountain oyster stew.
Man I love oysters in soup or chowder. Or on the half shell raw. Good eats.
I agree!I just can't do oysters, except Rocky Mountain oysters. I prefer clam chowder.
