On the ranch weather under the 10 day temp am I reading it right that we should be having highs in the 20 and 30's next week?

Sure cold out there this morning helping the son get his Peterbilt started and hooked up to his end dump. They sit for a month then want to haul on the coldest days.

Not according to what I've looked at. Looks like its going to be below normal for the next two weeks.:(

There are about 3 computer generated forecasts all in play right now-- all different- so you can about take your pick...Depends on what computer program each forecaster gives the most credit to...

A lot depends on which is more dominant-- the arctic cold coming out of Canada- or the warm air streaming in from the southwest and the coast...
One forecast site says warming- the other says the arctic air will override and we will actually be colder by the weekend...

All are pretty much in agreement that the back and forth meeting of the two fronts is going to give the state more snow most the week...How much- and how high of winds on Friday are the big question mark....

Last night at 8:30 it was 19 Below here- 22 Below at the neighbors west of me- and 26 Below at a neighbors a few miles east.... At the same time- Dennis Voss posted that it was 4 degrees above in his Two Dot country  (Montana Banana Belt) ...

This morning it was up to 14 Below BUT the 20 mph ESE wind was giving a chill factor of 40 Below...
Downright nasty out there....

Well this afternoon it made it above 0- and its up to 4 Above now...But the wind is still howling 20-25mph down here in the river valley...

The higher elevations are already warming with the Zortman mine showing 32 Above at 5PM....

The good news is that some of the weather folks are saying there are indications of a pattern change about mid week next week- with the flow being more off the coast and less out of the arctic.. Still below 0 lows- but at least above 0 for highs and not such bitter cold of lows.....
