Sinful- Hope It's not true

Seen it on the Weather Channel last night and they were saying 300 square miles, prayers go out to all who are dealin with this and any other fires out there. Hope it rains buckets and puts it out soon. From what I saw, the helicoptor flyin over dumpin wasn't makin much headway.

Oh, no. What a terrible, terrible thing.

I can't imagine losing that many cattle to fire.
I really feel for these folks.

Did you read the comments people had made?
Scroll down and read what was said. One guy,
who felt badly, said "Cattle are people too."
That's going a bit over the top, but the guy named
Sonny was very crass in his remarks.

I hope this plays out better than it sounds.

Fire information officer Dixie Dies said that firefighters had talked with the Langfords.

"We contact every landowner when we use their property, whether it's for dozer line or backburns," she said. "It shouldn't have been a surprise. I can tell you we talked to them."

Do you know how to tell if the Forest Service is lying? Their lips are moving!
We'd always suspected as much, but we found out for sure, with Kit and Sherry's deal with them.......and then it was reinforced, when they took me to court over something I never did, nor had any control whatsoever, over. And the derned LEO wanted us to be thrilled that he let us plea bargain over it....... Sorry SOB.....

Dies said the fire had crossed dozer line in a couple of places and that backfires were used Wednesday to contain it. Fire was also coming out of Forest Service land on the northwest.

Hello.............there is no such thing as Forest Service land.........the federal government can't own any property other than military installations and Washington, DC. Used to be that they could own the post offices, too, but when they went private, that put the kiedas to that.

Langford complained that the Forest Service wouldn't let them fight the fire on adjacent government land because of the liability.

Yep, they're so afraid that someone is gonna do something to save what they have that they'll come up with any and every excuse there is, to save their butts........of course, if we could save our property, it would take longer for them to get us all out of the west, too.......so maybe it all ties into The Wildlands Project........

Just visited with our fuel supplier who is also on the fire department and has a scanner. He said that I would not believe the BS going on at that fire. A contractor from here has been sitting on the fire with his dozer for 14 days, at $2000/day, and they will not let him start it or build any fire lines at all. He tried to leave as he does not feel right getting paid for nothing and they won't let him cause they might need him. The fire management team has said that they are going to let mother nature take her course, they will not even try to put anything out. He also told me that the ranchers did have the thing contained at less that 10 acres and the FS showed up and made the ranchers leave as it was their fire. They have also shut down the slurry bombers because they are not needed. I hope somebodies head rolls for this but it will never happen.

sw, I don't doubt that at all..............what a mess!

I do wish they'd make whoever is responsible for the blatant waste of tax dollars, pay it back. Down here (don't know if it's standard policy, or just in the SW Region) if they find out you've started a fire (through carelessness or deliberately, it's the same thing to them) they make you pay all costs for putting it out. Happened that way over on the Rodeo-Chideski (or however they spelled it) Fire near Show Low, AZ a couple of summers ago......
