It's just hair colour. :wink: But I do have a certain fondness for roans. Otherwise I think he looks a lot more moderate than some of the others, particularly being the second oldest in the group. He also has some muscle and stretch in his spine.

Once I recoup my cow numbers over the next 5 years, I would like to split the commercial herd in half and breed 1/2 to Shorthorn bulls and then breed the resulting F1 females to Welsh Black for sale as packages.
 
One really great thing about those Shorthorns is the disposition of the breed. Those bulls look like they're mostly about to go to sleep. That's a convenience trait that must not be overlooked. :D

I can't argue on the quality, they are top notch. :D

I guess I have a old prejudice against Roans. We ran yearling stockers and the old time Short horns always took a hit if they showed the roan. Maybe things have changed. :?
 
Here is my Daughter ,Tennys opion.
it they like coloring 105w is way better the 23w it breaks across the back and looks lazy. they look nice tho
86w looks nice level back good muscling maybe lil heavy thru the front but has a good spring of ribs and good square build and hes solid color :)
