Ty was up at his first pro rodeos Mon/Tues.-we got up early I loaded up on Meds and we headed for Airdrie-it started off good there were a couple old bulls that Ty used to get on when he was 13/14-they kind of graduated to the pros together-was nice to see his old nemisis's. his horse was terrible-about as much fun as riding a bike without a seat. He was sitting 4th after riding the big wallowing plodder but he really wanted a reride. This morning started a day that I'm still having trouble getting my head around. Ty was up in Ponoka-Canada's biggest rodeo and the biggest for payout in Novice. I've always wanted to go to it but never could justify just going on a holiday. they'd been going for six days and this was the last day of Novice. Ty drew a snappy little red roan of Vold's-got his rein right and damned if he didn't win the whole deal-he got tapped off nice I counted 17 spur licks from the neck to the cantle during the eight seconds. I was watching through the camera as I videoed and I thought it looks pretty good but I never guessed he'd win. Dad got a bit of a lumpy throat so I went for a walk then I went to congratulate him. The announcers don't know him so he never got and build up but I think they might now. One old pro bronc rider made him take off his high school buckle and put his new one on-he said after today they'll know who you are buddy. No matter what nobody can take this perfect day away from Ty and I but it's hard to believe it happened-almost like our luck is to good to be true.
