When you hear the gavel and an auctioneers chant
Your listening to the song of a cow sellers rant
And high sale averages on a Saturday night
Brings a smile to his face and a tear to your eye

I bought some bulls at Heartland
They had some needed a home
The guy that sold was a good man
Said they'd work till the daylight's gone
They won't need rain on the roof on a summer's night
Just some grass now and thento have a bite
These old bulls from Heartland
None of them needed a knife

Now my mornings are an endless blue
The bulls didn't do what bulls should do
There at the waterhole laying side buy side
Watching cycling cows as they do ride

I bought some bulls at Heartland
Thought they could live on brome
They didn't fit in my plan
And now the bull budget is gone
They need grain every day or they get damn slight
You can sure see the wrong from right
Them old bulls at Heartland
Sure could of used a knife

Got a bull sale catalogue recommending you feed a yearling bull 15-20 pounds of grain a day to get him back in shape after breeding-it got my creative juices flowing. The bulls don't sell at Heartland either it just rhymed.
