IM TIRED OF WINTER!

On a more positive note, only 6 months left till we are back to winter! :D   8)

Thanks for the reminder :?

Snowed here all day, nothing really stuck but it's supposed to keep at it for a day or so. Put me on the long list of folks that are sick of this winter. We started plowing up hay land a week from now last year. 'Course, nothing grew last year either so maybe this is a good thing. I don't believe that now but maybe in a few months it will make sense. :???:

We picked up over a foot of wet snow last night. Chained up the half ton to check cows, and saddled up the saddle horse. Rangers and four wheelers are sure handy but just didn't cut it today. My trusty saddle horse Macoroni was standing at the gate. He knew it was his time to get stuff done. Just something about having a trusty horse makes you feel good when the weather ain't the greatest.

Hope everyone else did ok in the snow. At least we had very little wind.

have a cold one

I don't know. TTb named him cause he has a little white noodle looking thing at the bottom of his nose. If it was me I would have just called him roan number two.

We only got a couple inches here at the Waldorf along with thunder and lightning-everything fresh was good to go this A'M just getting going good 16 yesterday-we have 150 don't start till May 1 though.

Most of the storms have been well south of us this spring. My calving date was April 15 so it snowed a foot yesterday. Had two older cows mis mother yesterday, one straightened out but the other knot head is going to kill this summer. I've had trouble with heifers mis mothering but not old cows. Maybe because the calves were all wet and smelled the same?
The good news is that I'm about 1/3 done calving before my due date and had near perfect conditions, until now.

I am not picky I will take anything that makes the ground wet now. It been since January sinces we had any of the wet stuff. Then it was 1 or 2 inches of snow and before that it was back in Oct. I am still running calves, but I don't know how much longer I can :( People are selling out a lot of cows because of the cost of hay and feed. They had close to 800 cows at East Texas Livestock Tues and close to 700 at Nacogdoches Livestock Thurday. This climate change stuff people are talking about is got a lot of ranchers believing it now.

Still snowing here. 10.6 cm's (about 4") is the statistical norm for April, we've already got 37.5 cm's . What a mess.
