I hope no one cares if I add a cat picture here. Maybe we could
change the name to Horses, Dogs and Cats.

This is my Siamese cat, Mr. Magoo. I think I told you about him already.
I've never been a cat person, but this one has so much personality, that we are both simtten by him.

Thanks ACS, and I like your picture caption. That sure sounds like him.

He actually brought his first mouse kill...into the house last night...I HATE MICE!!!

I had to put him in the basement, get a dustpan and broom, sweep it into the dustpan and take it back outside...WITH MY EYES CLOSED!!

Did I mention I HATE MICE...dead or alive.

Beautiful Blue. :o :D How old is he?
I have been looking for years for a blue siamese.
Enjoy him !~!~!~! They are wonderful cats and fun to have around.

Thank you. He is just so full of it. Definitely his own person.

A friend of ours found him almost dead by a sagebrush in a snowstorm.
She took him in and thought he had lost one eye and was crippled.
Nontheless she took care of him and he came out of it. Everyone in their
house is allergic to cats and some have asthma, so the kitten needed
a home. She brought him to us, and I have to admit I was real doubtful, but Mr. FH liked him immensely from the very start. I'm not sure how old he is, I think she found him around Dec. 1 and he was pretty small. So that would make him somewhere around 7 months old, I would guess.

How old do you think he looks? And if you know alot about Blues, do you think he looks like a purebred? I truly think he does, but I am no authority on cats. Doesn't really matter, but I do wonder if he is a purebred, how did he get out in that snowstorm? You would think someone would have been looking for him or something. It is just a small town where he was found.

We had him neutered and declawed so he will be mostly in the house. He does go outside, in fact, until he brought the mouse in, I left the door cracked open so he could go in and out. Which he did. A lot.

But that is over now, I hate mice. Not taking any chances of having any kind of mouse in the house.

He is so alert, I bet he catches a lot of mice, claws or no claws!

Sure wish I was not allergic to cats, FH!!! otherwise, I might have to make a roadtrip and "borrow" that pretty feller for a few weeks/months/years to help us out with our mouse problem.....for each one killed with the decon, 5 or 6 more sprout outta nowhere!! Can hear the danged things crawling in my walls...found a nest of dead ones (babies) inside a SEALED box of my summer clothes...least to say, they went "bye-bye"!!!

I think I am allergic to this cat, too. But I'm going to try and stick it out.
We have a black cat that we got when we first moved here because we had mice too. He did a good job and is the best cat, EVER!! He is 13 years old now and his name is Baxter Black. He is HUGE.

I was never bothered with allergies with Baxter, but am coughing and my eyes water with Magoo. I looked up cat allergies on Google and I found out there that some people can tolerate black hided cats, but not white-skinned cats. So if you really want something to help rid the place of mice, you might try a black one.

And cats do help keep mice away. Whether they kill them or the mice know they are around.

I've been told cats also help keep snakes out of the yard.

I would rather fight allergies than have my house over run with mice. As for cats keeping snakes out of the yard...we have always had cats and always had snakes.

This is a picture of the cat that keeps the rodents out of my house and yard...(that is, if I have photobucket figured out you will see it...)

Well folks, yesterday, our cat "Wally" (found under my truck at Wally World on Christmas eve) out doin his job apparently wasn't fast enuff to out maneuver a snake. He was bitten somewhere real close to his left eye, can't really tell where because of all the swelling, I aint postin pictures, it looks awful. His eye is bulging. I've given him benedryl and its lookin better, but he's not movin around a whole lot at the moment, but I think he'll live. He's white with orange markings where a siamese has dark markings.

Oh, poor Wally. (I like the name BTW~)

What kind of snake was it Jersey Lilly?
That's too bad. And so much for my theory of cats keeping snakes away.

And I am sure your snakes in Texas are WAYYY bigger than our
cold-stunted Montana snakes.
(I know that for a fact, seen some and got some rattlesnake rattles
from Texas. They are huge!)

Faster I have been looking for good photos of blues to show you but all the show cats look weird....to gaunt.
I would say he is full blood if not then very close, with those blue eyes.
Cant tell how old with just a picture. He looks young ...does he still have any kitten look to him?
I know my new cat is 9 months old and she still has alot of kitten in her.
Been calling her kiki but she wont come to that ....called her a panther when son was playing with her and she climbed the wall chasing the laser light. Her ears perk up to panther.
Will get a good pic of her and show you .....she is black with little white socks and white diamond on the chest and a small white belly. Oh she has white whiskers on her black face LOL

I have no idea what kinda snake it was, we found him layin on the porch all swollen yesterday. But from previous bites, and previous cats, dogs etc, it looks like a snake bite. Spider bites don't usually swell as much as he has with this. We have numerous poisonous snakes here, but my guess is probably a copper head, there seems to be more of those than any other kind.
I"m mowin today. All around the house, yard needed it, but me and the lil john deere are mowin more than the yard this time. Prolly end up bein close to 3 or 4 acres........I want it short, so the snakes won't be as apt to lay around in the grass.
