I am trying to figure out how to background some calves this winter without buying either a mixer box or hauling more 5 gallon buckets. Usually we bucket them 3.5-4 lb grain (75 corn/25 DDG) and free choice grass/alfalfa hay. I talked to a Sweetpro rep today who said one lb of Sweetpro (Kalfkandi I think is the one he recommended) would likely take the place of about 3 lb grain. Wondering if anyone has used their products in a backgrounding situation and how it turned out. Thanks.

What would be in that lick block that 1# could take the place of
3 lbs. of grain? I would really question that statement.
Molasses blocks are mostly.......molasses........
with filler.........

no molasses in it. Supposed to be some sort of ingredients that feed the rumen bugs to be more efficient with forages. I know it sounds a little hokey. But I'm trying to keep an open mind. I know a guy who has used it on a very small scale and was happy with the results but I need a little more than his experience.
