The Cripple Creek, Colorado vicinity, fall colors are nice this year. I know the color is not as vibrant as the hardwoods, but the mountain setting makes them real pretty. Some of them are blurry, because I could not hold the camera steady enough when it was zoomed in.

I suppose the elevation is 10,000 to 11,000. The colors are pretty good, the photographer leaves some room for improvement, but I doubt a few days will accomplish that. :-) What will happen, is that by the time the rest of the green trees turn, more of the others will drop.

This time of year is a photographers dream with all the different colors. Our trees are just starting to turn also, very pretty area..thanks so much for posting these...

Thanks for the fall photos Shortgrass.

I took the camera with me a few days ago to capture some fall colours and then found the batteries were dead. The wind we got on Friday removed a big share of the leaves so will now wait for next year.

That happened to me too gcreek. :( Thanks for the pictures Shortgrass.

The rocks in the next to last picture are the lower end of a ridge of those spires that continue about a mile. They are called "The Devil's Playground." He sure does have a lot of playgrounds, huh? I had jury duty today, but the wife and sis and bro-in-law went on over Keebler Pass to the West Elks and Grand Mesa today. They got into color that surpasses this because the Quaker Pockets were bigger. I missed out   .

The pictures are just great, But the one with our FLAG truly is one of a kind, Wish I could make a screen saver out ot it, THANKS. 101

Shortgrass, beautiful pictures thanks for sharing. Patch color here, but i'm sure that'll be changing over the next 7-10 days. I love this time of year!
