The trade off is we don't have to suffer through summers like you get down there

Yep-- and all the bums and panhandlers have long ago went to Texas- and points south

The local weatherman reported that Indiana averaged 15 degrees F below normal for the entire year of 2009 - - - felt good all summer and not to bad last winter as they kept saying it was too cold for snow to fall????

The 7 day for cast is for highs in the low 20s , average high is supposed to be 36 F so we are still holding below normal - - - they keep saying the air is to cold and dense to bring mositure - - - how does that work out west?

But so far I have not pushed any snow - - -I could have cleared the 1" off the drive but we just packed it down and now it's a sheet of ice.

It's currently +7F with a predicted high of +14F today but with no wind and sunshine it does not feel bad if you dress for it and keep working!

We have all this snow and more is on the way... Now do we go into town tues and stay wed and thurs. Or do we go in wed and stay thurs??? If the wind blows all our roads will be drifted in.....

It is minus 5 here been that cold since the new year began. wind chills been around Minus 25 0r 30 when the wind picksup. I ll take the cold over heat any day . I can put clothes on to stay warm but can only take so much off and still be misearable.

Thats why we have nude beaches down here. But I will tell you I will never go. There are some place the sun will never burn on me.

I had to watch the Rose Bowl- and all those scantily clad cheerleaders to remember women still have skin under all those layers of clothes...

We have the calm before the storm...Really a pretty nice day- Temp of 16- no wind- real light snow coming down...
BUT
they are saying that will change later in the day- with heavier snow (5-8 inches)- winds picking up (and changing directions 1/2 way thru the storm so it can really plug things up) - and by Wednesday the bottom falling out of the thermometer (25-35 below depending on which weather guesser you listen to)...
I got a weeks worth of hay jerked out of the stacks and sat out to where its easier to get to- and replaced a tank heater that was burning out- so now just sit and see what we get...
Old cows and horses know its coming- they were out early grazing- and 1/2 filled up when I rolled them out some hay for a little extra stuffing...
