I sure hope somebody is getting some moisture from the storm that's moving through the Rockies here, cause all we're getting is the wind. It's been blowin' 35 to 40 mph with gusts of 65 to 70 all day... and still is. I was called out to a grass fire early this afternoon, we were able to save a two car garage and a mobile home but lost a good size storage shed and a small greenhouse.... shortly after we got there, there was another fire call 20 miles west so half our crew packed up and headed for that scene. I'll sure be glad when the darn wind dies down.

Just venting a little... the good thing is no injuries and everybody is back at the barn. I'm sellin' my calves tomorrow... I'll try and remember my camera. Well, I'm turnin' in... I'm plum tuckered out.

Thought I would have to ask OT if I had to send him postage to ship my hat back to me.
Was pretty nasty last week.

Heard today that they got around 6" of snow over Missoula way.

Wind hasnt stop here YET.......uugggg maybe in a month or so it will
Now if it would stop getting to freezing at night I cna get my garden in.

The wind finally stopped here just after dark. :-) I hope you get to feelin' better soon WR.

Thanks, I'm much better this morning :D . It only snowed a few inches last night, not the six they predicted.

sun and wind here today. it will be a drying day. good for us part time farmers  i hate farming, but it's time to get in the field and get it over with.

Wind is gusting up to 35 mph today. It's enough to drive a person crazy.

Yep-- wind howling here all day today too-- which made it nasty hauling some bales out and sticking around on pasture getting ready to move cows in the next week or two.....

Grandson Gabe (9) has strep- and couldn't go to school today so he helped me- and then we went hunting gophers... Not that many up in the wind- but got a dozen or so....Gabe wanted to use my 22-250 to shoot one- which I let him- but he's too short armed to get it to his shoulder good...So he torked one off- blew the gopher 30 feet in the air from about 30 yards- but got a little scope bite (that will leave a black 1/2 circle to tell his buddies and the little girls about  )...He was yelping and holding his head as he was asking if he hit it- and I was laughing and telling him how high he blew it in the air .....Finding gopher guts blew all over the prairie did wonders in alleviating the pain...

Wind went down tonite while tagging/weighing new calves- but they're predicting 30-35 mph again tomorrow....

I remember Mom talking about the pioneers loosing their minds because of the constant wind...

Now I know where mine went.

We had a mini blizzard here Monday night, 30 mph wind, 6 inches of snow. Neighbors 10 miles away got an inch and a half.
Sunny and cold yesterday morning and overcast in the afternoon. Snowing big time again now.

Guess the bulls will go out ten days later this year.

Wind here has been blowing 45-- gusts to 60

About 6 PM my wife called about smoke about a 1/2 mile northeast of us-- checked out and it was a fire on the riverbottom- on the other side of the river just ripping thru the timber... Jumped the river a couple times- but we were able to keep it from spreading...They've got a pretty good fireguard built with cats and loaders- but it will take watching as this wind is predicted for tonite and tommorrow...

Didn't take much of a detective to find the cause- as the firepit was still smoldering and the bikes and fishing poles were still on the riverbank with the lines in the water...

Just when it looked like we would be able to keep that fire from jumping the river I looked back southwest up Willow Creek- about 2 miles past our house and saw smoke-- and pretty soon something was totally engulfed in flames...My elderly neighbors old barn...Apparently the wires got sparking in the wind and torched it...

Sounds like they have fires all over the area....

Its actually going down here a little now- and I saw they just pulled one of the fire trucks out of this side....

Interesting side story-- neighbor from up Brazil creek was down helping fight the fire-- and sitting in his pickup talking to one of the Deputies when a big gust came along... He didn't have his tailgate in- and the gust apparently got under and blew the bedliner in his pickup (which was bolted down)- up and smashed the hylift jack, pipe wrenchs, toolbox and everything else right thru his back window....A 3 foot chunk of cheater pipe ended up flying by his ear and landing in the front seat (4 door pickup)...
