I was helping my neighbor start some chuckwagon horses today-it's about as far away from driving a chore team as s...t is from wild honey. The first horse we hooked was a future wheeler-he bucked for probably ten minutes while we harnessed Timon the big Percheron anchor-he drove alright once we got him hooked. the second horse was a leader he threw a wild horse fit so we drove them into a slough-that chilled him out a bit. The last horse was supposed to be bad for kicking at the tugs-Ross braided his tail and we tied it to his halter and that seemed to occupy him a bit-why I don't know. He bowed up a bit too but a few minutes out in the slough took his mind off things. Those big TB's are different dudes that's for sure-I'm not much help but I try and stay out of the way.
