Ummm Northern Rancher

No I missed him-my eyes are kind of going so going to wait till rfle and see how he matches up against 'Speaks Once' my .270's Indian name and my old Leupold 2x7. I love hunting those big bruisers they are so smart and crafty. Kids are down south got in their late last night but no bucks down yet. Lots of game up here this fall Ty saw 19 moose the day he killed his bull-got a shot a big black wolf too-you just never know what you might ruin into.

Geeze, I must be doing something wrong. I haven't seen 19 moose in all my years of moose hunts let alone one day.
Way to keep your chin up after another miss. Sometimes those blown opportunities knaw at me and I have to remind myself that I'm having fun.

I think I'll start another thread in sports/hunting to share some memorable misses, the big ones have a knack for getting away.

NR - you need to grab one of those chemo pumps and turn the scope the other way. Kind of like spotlighting, but I am sure it's legal.

hey NR - thought maybe you'd enjoy this. not the nice whitetail we went back looking for but it sure was fun. we saw the whitetail but he's just got way too good of a home... no easy way to put a hunt on him and i just won't take the kids hunting on a quad or pickup. real windy day so we decided to just walk the creek - lots of lazy hunters bebopping around in their pickups just drive right by the deer. we got so close to these before the saw us it was amazing... clark had him in his sights probably a good 20 seconds, hesitated, says its just a small spike but decided to shoot and just missed about 3 inches too high for a perfect shot. caught his spine and dropped him. he was all smiles... but i can tell he wanted that whitetail. next we get to go cow elk hunting in the hills, i think im going to go get a deer tag too - lots funner hunting with your own kids.

That's not a spike that's an 11 pointer. I pretty much forsake all others once I strted hunting with my kids-it just doesn't get any better. good on you-Ace. Haven't got ahold of my friend in Wyoming yet about what we discussed but I will as soon as I can.
