Vigortone is/and could be a good product-if they stood behind their dealers and product....Problem is up here I have had 3 dealers now that went bankrupt or skipped the country- and the company didn't stand behind the defective/problem products saying I had to work with the bankrupt/nonexistent dealer-- and with their private dealership areas way of marketing switching hands so often- it was almost impossible to maintain a supply or even find where you could get it without travelling too far...

That's funny cause I am still dealing with the man I started with and he lives in the next town to you. :?

I don't personally use vigortone mineral but for someone to suggest they aren't a full service mineral provider that is very interested in taking care of their customer shows a great lack of industry knowledge. They have vigortone mineral in several places in my town and at least 2 full time employees locally that are available any time.

Well thats a hundred miles away for me round trip-- and with no nonvarmint storage areas- too far to travel when I need a half dozen bags... Not that good of product to spend the gas running over just when the tubs get low...

i bet they'd sell you a pallet of mineral while you are over there. plus 100 miles round trip isn't that bad, i have to go 100 miles one way to find any.

If you get at least four tons they'll bring the truck right to your door. My cows like the product, and I am completely satisfied with our Vigortone representative and the service he provides.

Oh I'm sure they would- but I don't need it by the palletfull- only a few bags at a time or else the mice and coons get into it..
And like I said- it isn't that much superior a product for me to go out of the way-- and after the screwing over I got with the defective/tainted product my cattle wouldn't eat- that they wouldn't stand behind or replace- I'd just as soon do business with someone that will....

I did try to get a local farm/ranch supply (that has adequate financing/reputation) to get in the product-- but they told me that when they tried- they couldn't get it because it was too close to another dealer...

I use a custom mix made by IFA, cut out the feedstore and wow I can afford it
they make me a winter mineral and a then have one made for calving start feeding it a month before starting it the same mix plus CTC and BioMos
very selenium and copper defeicent here

If your willing to pay a little more they will drop 2 ton also. 4 Ton gets you the best freight rate though.I've got some in a barn with no doors and the mice stay out of it so that reason is pretty lame. Use what ever you want but they have had great service for us they do our rations on our calves useing feed stuffs we already have not trying to push another product.A company is only as good as it's employees maybe Oldtimer just ran into a few bad employees/salesmen. Another thing I've been selling it for a few years and There's no money in it so it's more a public service.Maybe they did'nt eat it because they were'nt lacking for minerals.Lots of maybe's and if you only bought 10 bags chances are your salesman made a whoping $10 you don't get much service for $10

Yeah we like the four ton deal also. Our dealer is in Prairie city and he will bring a pallet or two if we run low or if he is in the area. They shrink rap it and we have very little problem with mice.

We aren't sure if it is better than purina but we are going on our second year and year one we sure liked the results.

have a good one

Is he back in the country? Last few times I tried to contact him- after he lost the store- and then the place- he was in Wyoming somewhere? Or avoiding me :???: Those I asked about getting it told me I had to go to Wolf Point again....

Sorry-- I don't want to have to chase someone down around the country to buy their product.. And when I buy a product- I expect the place/company that sold it to me to stand behind it....Like I said- it isn't that much different.... Two of the large outfits that I have fed for over the years mix their own mineral- at about 1/2 the price.....And the cows seem to do great....

The sad thing is that Vigortone could sell 5-10 times the product if they had allowed the local farm/ranch store (that is financially secure and stands behing their sales) to sell it so people could pick it up when they need it....

I usually get 3 ton at a time delivered. The mice and coons can get into the shed where I store mine but they have never bothered it. My dealer brings it on the little ten bag pallets and wheels them off his trailer into my shed with his cart.

Old Disagreeable would drive that far for a drink or two!

Gee,what a deal.

Someone asks a question and then Vigortone gets bashed.
Talk about a vendetta!

There is more than one side to a story and this one has been
discussed here in the past, and more than once.
No sense in going over it again. I will say that in order to
recieve a refund or replacement product, the dealer has
to have one of two things from the producer in order
to put in a trouble report.
The producer needs to provide the dealer with either a sample of
the problem mineral OR a batch number off the bag. Not
much can be done without concrete evidence a problem exists.
That's standard procedure with many companies.

Thanks to all who posted on this thread with your positive input.

We've been dealers for going on 18 years now...we
are happy with the company and how they do business.
And we have happy customers that keep coming back.
In fact, our first customer has continued to buy mineral
from us all this time. :D
