Weaned and Shipped

Weaned our calves yesterday and got the weights on them.

Steers avg 526#
heifers avg 495#

Had a steer weighting 705#

Our weights are up from last year. Pretty happy.
calves were eating pretty good last night, the feed bunk was empty this morning.
Have one steer that took off during the roundup he got overheated and injuried on his left front, we have kept him back. Nice big steer too. Should eat good. :wink:
He couldn't get up to the automatic waterer so I set out a rubber tub for him and filled it with water. He got a good drink, going to keep it filled til he is better.
vet looked at him today and thinks he just bruised or pulled something.

Preg checked the cows today. Only one open

Cull cows and sell calves are on the truck and heading to the sale yard.

Got the check from the sale barn.
Weights didn't match. Our scale was showing them as light. :shock:
We had 12782 for 28 calves.
The yard had 13875.
Quite a difference there.

Got between 100.80-116.00
