Weather

local forecast is now saying the low on sunday will be -35!!!!

our river gorged already (pretty danged early) so will be heading out with the camera!!

Actually got to 5 ABOVE yesterday- and I got the old mares and saddle horses hauled in off the north prairie....
15 Below last night- 2 Below now at noon...But they are saying 20-25 Below again Friday night and this weekend- plus possibly another 3-6 inches of snow...
Long range forecasters are saying we could get a Pacific Front and warm up Christmas present on Christmas day-- and temps back up in the 20's and near 30's for a few days... :)
But then the Grinch appears again-- as they say the pattern sitting up over Greenland usually means bitter cold moving back over North America.. :(

I just heard on the radio that the odds for Vegas getting snow in December, like they did yesterday, is the same as drawing a flush in 5 card stud.....

We got back last night from Alberta...holy cold!! roads could have been a little better going up in places, were clear coming back. We hit a few -30 F spots going up and it was cold the day of the sale, good to be back where its warmer! We brought a team of heavy horses back with, so will try and get a few photos to show in a day or two...hubby's new winter project!

Luckily, my area dodged a nasty, nasty ice storm over night, but still ended up with quite a bit of sleet and snow. On top of the couple of inches of snow from eariler week and back into the deep freeze this weekend, it'll be a White Christmas in my neck of the woods for the second year in a row 8)

Temp rose during the night- from 8 Below up to 5 Below this morning-- but the NE wind came up and we have wind chills of about -30 again, which makes it colder than a well diggers rear end out there....
And we have light snow coming down- picked up about an inch so far...Predicting the temp steadily dropping to -15 to -20 tonite and winds picking up-- so now that I'm done feeding and chores, I might just have to hibernate again...
My windbreak and fencing projects may not get completed til spring if winter stays like this.... :?

Ok Oldtimer, now you are off the hook for not coming to Chase Hawks. Blowing, snowing, freezing cold here too. The thermometer is at -7 but the wind is something screeching and bitter. Why is it, around July, I develop some amnesia that makes me think, "huh, last winter wasn't too bad...."

I'm developing a romance with my Carharrts.

We are having a real nice day. The noon temperature stands at 35 degrees even though the expected high was only supposed to be 27. Things are due to change, though, as it will get down to zero tonight, and zero is also the expected high for tomorrow. Tomorrow night is supposed to get down to 15 below and the high on Sunday is also only going to be zero. A very slight warm-up should occur starting Monday. Oh well, we are getting very near to the shortest day of the year.

-32 with the wind chill and pretty thick ice fog out there, best part of that,Tommorow is a winter wonderland with the hoar frost,I wouldn't even trade Kola for that..... :)
