Just now (6:10 p.m. MST) the wind came up out of the north. The temperature is 29 degrees. It will free fall throughout the night, so we'll see what happens. :(

Well as hard as that wind is blowing out of the NW- it will probably be down to you before morning....9 Below right now on its way to a predicted 20 Below- and 40 Below chill factors....

Not a nice night out for man or beast....

In twenty minutes, the temperature has dropped fourteen degrees. It is now fifteen above.

Minus 30 6:30 MST. North wind. I'm curious about always quoting the windshield temp. The temp is the temp. The cows get out of the wind and most of us do as well. Why bother quoting the windshield?

Now, at 6:30 a.m MST, the temperature stands at a whopping 12 degrees below Zero. The wind is howling. At least we didn't get much snow (maybe an inch), and the stars are shining. Oh, for the life of a cowboy. :?

23 Below here this morning--and about a 10 mph NW wind making the windchill 45 Below so I better put on my Breezly Bruin Mad Bomber hat to keep from freezing my face....

Heres a video that about sums up the weather so far this winter..

Oh boy, 6 degrees with a winchill of -30 , it snowed last night, but hard to tell how much since the wind is blowing. I'm waiting to go feed, no sense pulling cattle out of shelter... let the sun get up good :D .

Gcreek, do you still want me to send my balmy weather up your way??? :D

That was dang funny OT... it's so cold here, the stud horse is a gelding now... and speaking of which, I went to the dinner dance for Chase Hawks last night--had to get out and see something that wasn't gelded, cut, pregnant, bovine, equine, or canine..at least physically.. and the turn out was excellent. I imagine however, the rodeo will be cold as Cut Bank tonight.

Might cut into the beer sales there... But with some of the crew I know that usually go- probably not much
Wish I could be there, but this weather is not cooperating...I was hoping not to start feeding until at least the new year- maybe even middle of January- but with this prolonged bitter cold and snow cover I've had to start giving them a little...
Have a good time at the rodeo--with that being all roughstock, I never even used to visit the beer gardens (which I always figured the roping and barrel racing events were for  ).....Too much excitement at Chase Hawks to want to leave your seat...

Sorry about the "wind chill". Yes that is what I mean to say. Why can't spell check make sure you used the right word. If I had spelled shield wrong maybe the mistake could have been avoided!
