Shouldn't be surprised but somehow that first blast of winter is always a bit of a shock.
A week ago the sun was shining warmly, the ground was bare and the cows were still nibbling at the last of the patchy grass in their field. 8)
Now, on the level, we have over a foot of snow that came mostly in the last two days. Drifts up to 3' or 4' deep. And there's not much let up in the forecast until almost Christmas. :?
Everything one does outside takes twice as long. The ground is still warm under the snow and so the snow makes a very slippery pack once one drives over it. I found that out the hard way yesterday. :dunce: :frowns:
I unexpectedly did a pretzel dance when I stepped onto an icy tractor track after feeding the cows.  While I'm sure I looked quite athletic, it prolly wouldn't get me high marks on style with uncoordinated arms and legs flailing madly and uselessly in every direction.
Kind of a triple lutz-triple toe combination but not quite.
When I finally ended the impromptu "So you Think You Can Dance" show and landed sprawled out on the lane, I think I must have jarred loose every joint in my creaking old frame. :help:
I can feel joints that I forgot I had.
Musta pinched something in my neck cuz my head still aches from the performance. :cry2:
Well I guess it just shows that winter in snow country just ain't all it's cracked up to be.
But since it's here, I decided I might just as well bite the bullet and decide to make the best of it for another 3 or 4 months! :lol2:
So I guess I can say that I started it off with a free-style "Welcome to Winter" dance.
So what have you done to welcome in the new season, Hmmmm? :cowboy:
