Took the first three photos this past Wednesday of 2 meadows at the home place. We pulled irrigation dams July 1 and they are still as wet as when we had water on. In excess of 5 inches since Monday afternoon.
Big Meadow south of the house.
High Draw
Water on the ground
The balance of these were taken today at Morrison Meadow.
High water in Holtry Creek took the road out between the homesite and the meadows, we are replacing the culvert with a bridge. Last year at this time you would have had to wait to fill a 5 gallon bucket at the culvert.
Heifers
One of the heifer bulls, the other decided he didn't want his portrait taken.
Pairs, the gates are open for them to go to range but it is so wet out there they chose to keep the pasture grazed close and their feet relatively dry. Outside they would be belly deep to get their summer grass. This is normally a really dry flat.
More rain on the way. Probably another 1/2 inch in the last 2 hours.
The old-timers used to say that haying on the ice was smooth going.
