What are some songs that make you cry...

Ava Maria brings me near to tears. I've got a CD of Anne Murray doin' Christmas songs. Her rendition of "O' Holy Night" is a moving piece that I listen to over and over.

Most of mine have been mentioned, one that wasn't is Blake Sheltons (not sure of the name) 'I was her baby' about his mom passing away before he could get there. It came out shortly after mom died and I still don't think I could listen to it without crying.
 
Merle Haggard songs generally make me depressed, drink beer and smoke :lol:
I tell you what does make my cry but its not that im sad. Its just so beautiful, inspirational. Its the olympic musical free style dressage kurs.
Its not really the song itself that chokes me up as its the horse/rider.
I have a home movie of this girl over in Spain riding to Enya thats just, well you would have to see it.
Anky Van Grunven chokes me up, makes me cry, causes the hair on the back of my neck to stand everytime I see her ride.
Did any of you see her at the World Equestrian Games in Germany this summer?
 
A friend's mom sings Oh Holy Night at the Christmas singalong, and sings so beautifully it is enough to bring tears to your eye. It's a beautiful song, but not everyone can do it justice.
 
I heard Marty Robbins sing "Utah Carol" a couple of days ago, and that
song brought a tear to my eye. I don't know how manyy of you have heard it, but I did manage to find the words. Marty Robbins sings it

In April of 03 the little woman and I were headed to Texas. We spent the first night in Colorado Springs. When we left the next morning there were protesters on both sides of the street. One side was for the war and the other was against. A little ways down the road, we heard for the first time, Randy Travis sing, 3 Wooden Crosses. We had a son in Bahgdad and that and the song damn sure brought tears to our eyes.

Movies are worse for me.

Can't think of the names of too many right at the moment, but there are sure quite a few that have choked me up, over the years. AI was the worst. Whenever I think of that poor little boy who gets sent out into the world and just wants his mother and what he went thru' to find her, it chokes me up.

Guess I'm just strange.
 
Roper, did you ever see "Dynasty's" last performance? Not only does it make your hair stand on end but it really chokes you up when he does the stampede charge at the end with the canadian flag. Not very often you see a charge in a dressage performance, it was so patriotic that they got a huge standing ovation. It was sooo emotional :) I'm having a complete brain fart as to who his rider was though.... I'll wake up in the middle of the night with it I'm sure!
 
Jinglebob, I hear you about AI. It was sad on so many levels. It pointed out all of our flaws as humans. Just thinking about him being all alone for ever still chokes me up :(
 
Watched a musical program this evening called "Celtic Women"it was sooo good,when Dannyboy was sang :cry2: :cry2:

I also can't handle the end of 8 seconds,tears me up.I've never heard of AI,tell me about it,please.

Do you like science fiction? If you do, I won't tell you about it. Talk Mr. Greg into braving the storms and renting it for you. It is definately a make you think movie. Really well done, not what I thought it was going to be at all. But if you are going to watch it I can't give it away :gag: :P

No I didnt see Dynasty :( I have only seen Anky on Camellion Bonfire and Keltic Salinero.
Bonfire IMO was the greatest horse I have ever seen in my life. With Anky it was always perfection. You know there isnt much in this world that I can call perfect. Actually Anky and Bonfire are the only example of perfection that I have ever seen and I dont just mean perfection as being horse related.

Actually I really am not a sci-fi fan,I've heard about Starwars and Star trek but just not my thing ,matter of fact I think theres a missing brain cell in the brain of Trekkies :lol: All that being said,it looks like AI comes well recommended,so will maybe get it as a Xmas gift for son,and we'll borrow and watch it. I seem to like the story you and JB are talking about. I'm really picky about the movies I watch,hate violence so try to stay away from anything like that,greg on the other hand watches alot of what I call death and destruction :?
