6500 to 9000
To high and cold to grow any type of row crop

6900 give or take a little depending where we run cows. And I have to agree whole heartedly with this statement. Really stinks trying to farm out here. :D

Texas does have anything you want cold, hot, high and low, but we also have that little thing called Humidity. It can be hell when added to the first two. More so in the summer.

Only on the eastern side of the state. It's dry as a popcorn fart on the west side most of the time. I never knew what humidity was.....for real...till we moved to east texas. The weathermen out there never mention it. They may now....just to let you know how dry it really is...lol but growin up out there.....humidity wasn't a concern.

Yeap we have mountains...deserts....plains....hill country....forests...swamps.....beaches...lots of decent size lakes.... and an abundance of snakes, lizards, and bugs.

Hate to tell ya, but if the highest spot is 8300 feet you DON'T have any mountains! Those are called foothills! :P

It's ok...in Texas they ARE mountains..we don't require them to be above the clouds, and covered in snow year round for them to qualify  :P

The problem is your state is so dang big there wasn't enough of it to stack up into proper mountains. You do have plenty of real estate under the Lone Star!

Leave it a bunch of Texans to make a mountain out of a foothill. :D

You better watch out or I will send you some wild hogs to take down those mountains. They will make holes out of them.

i got two in the trap right now ill gladly send with them. ive got enough bacon, cracklins, boudin and sausage to last me 5 years.

Those are some mighty high elevations...Im on the Texas coast and my elevation at the back of our place is -2 or 2' Below sealevel (freshwater marsh) and the highest elevation on our whole property is 15'7" - which was a problem this past year when Hurricane Ike pushed a 17' storm surge.

I had my GPS out at Bad Water in Death Valley one time and wanted to see the evevations go Minus. I was disappointed when it just went zero at sea-level and that was that.
