Which state has the most beautiful ranches/farms?

Powder River Basin Wyoming. A person can get up on one of the buttes here on the ranch and see the Blackhills to the east, the Bighorns to the west and the Medicine Bows to the south.

What I always enjoyed about driving around out west was that the scenery had probably changed little from when white man first walked there. It was always like taking that mental step back in history and imagining what they must have thought as they viewed the same scenery.

I've been lucky in my wanderings I've seen some of the country mentioned-I have good friends in Buffalo, Wyoming we camp at-that area is tough to beat. I really liked Utah when we've travelled through there. I like to take a different road everytime I go places it's amazing what you see off the beaten path. I think my favorite sight is watching a big mulie buck skyline at first light-no matter where I'm at.

We lived right on the Powder River in Wyoming for a couple of years.
It certainly has it's own beauty, but water for livestock there is
a problem. Or was a problem. Maybe the methane development has
helped that out.

Mr. FH always liked the Parkman, Wyoming country, north of Sheridan.
It's foothills and it seems to always rain in through there, more than
about anywhere. I have heard the Rotten Grass country west of
Lodge Grass can't be beat for cattle.

Oh, per's country is stunning. And gcreek has his own private
piece of beauty, tucked away from the wandering crowds. :D

small tour of the Z Bar in the flint hills...they have sold it to the historic society, and have tours occasionaly. sadly, in the preservation of the ranch, they also turned it into a buffalo ranch.... but the ornate llimestone work and that barn are WELL worth the trip to see it. plus the drive north of the Z bar, to Manhattan is , in my opinion, one of the most beautiful drives you will get.

A friend of mine told me while I was visiting him in the hospital that he had done everything a cowboy could ever want to do. His only wish was to go back to Rifle, Colorado one last time. He never made it, he passed away the next morning. I have never been there, but his stories intrigued me. I have always wanted to spend some time in the mountains. We drove through Jackson Hole, Wyo in the middle of a thunder storm. That was probably the most amazing display I have ever seen Mother Nature put on. It is beautiful country. I would have to agree with Katrina though. Being a Sandhiller my whole life I have grown to appreciate it's beauty. There is nothing like looking down a great big valley in the spring and seeing green hills all around you. Most people do not fully appreciate the beauty because you can not see it from the road.

My personal preference is for trees, hills, and valleys.... so BC wins hands down. To quote a commercial, "there is more square miles of awesomeness per person " than anywhere else in the world in BC, and the variety of that 'awesomeness' is endless.
Don't let the secret out though, I kinda like it uncrowded :D

Driving up to Manitoba one year to hunt deer I drove along the eastern edges of Kansas, Nebraska, S. Dakota and N. Dakota.

I gotta say, some of the prettiest places I saw were in S. Dakota.

as i look out my office window, i can tell you it ain't here. :(

You are all on the wrong continent :D .
Matabeleland province, where else do you see Kudu, Wilderbees, Zebra, Eland, Impala, ostrich, down to meerkat and bushbabies amongst the cattle? The giant 2000 year old baobab trees, and aloes flowering in season along with the flame lillies form a riot of colour between the red flamboyant trees can never be equalled anywhere else in the world!

Someplace between hot and cold.
Someplace between the desert and the swamp.
Someplace where people are scarce
Someplace the enviro wackos and hippies don't know exist

I'm sure glad that we all have a different idead of pretty. I don't think I would like everyone living in my spot. You sandhill people, y'all watch over your area. 'H you guard that end. You West River folks keep me covered to the east. And OT if anyone gets through the Canucks, pick'em off for me. Now if you all will each keep the riffraff from gettin' through your area my little piece of heaven should remain fairly people free.

Gosh, it's kind of like trying to decide which kid you love the best, isn't it?? There are so many beautiful places that remain unspoiled, mostly thanks to ranchers, all over North America. Here in the midwest, we don't have the dramatic landscapes of the country further west but the land is so fertile and productive it has its own kind of beauty. I love to go visit the mountains, canyons, deserts and all kinds of country, but the rolling hills with big trees, plenty of water, green grass and tall corn growing down in the flatlands is home.

We sure missed it, if the old Azcowspitter was still here we could have had him watch the southern border and spit Copenhagen in any offenders eyes

AZ has been gone so long I had forgotten him, hope he has matured since he was here and found peace in his life, he always came over as having a disturbed personality.

Natural predators chase these cows while singing "copenhagen-eye-yippee-yippee-yay-yippy-yay, copenhagen-eye-yippee-yippee-yay!"
