They made a TV series about Richard Hobson's ranching days. Very humorous.
Where woold one look to find the show?Love to see it.
I haven't seen it on TV for a few years. I will try to find it. Could be CBC or CTV. It was called "To Good for a Cowboy" or something like that.

I just got started on a copy of "Adventures of a west TX Veterinarian" by Dr. Charles Edwards. He started vet practice in Marfa TX area in 1946, sure some fun stories in there.

I read "King of the cowboys" last winter. It's Ty Murray's story and a good read. Any non-fiction book about the west or cattle or trappers or pioneers is my motto. Just finished a book called "Biting the dust" by Dirk Johnson. A book about rodeo in the 80's. Kept my attention. Next month when the book-mobile shows up i'll let ya know if i find anymore good ones.

What was the name of the book by Ben K. Green DVM?

Horse Tradin'

More Horse Tradin'

Wild Cow Tales

There were more.

Nine Lives of a Cowboy by Dude Lavington.....have misplaced Born to Be Hung by the same author. Seems like anyone that pioneered (or still ranches  ) in BC was kinda half tough!

Dude and Art were genuine good old time bush cowmen. One of my BIL's bought Art's cattle hauling business and truck when he sold. I can remember Art coming into the ring after unloading cattle at the yards and having a nap. Leaning on the ring cables and standing up!

One of my uncles retired to Chase & got to know Dude in his retirement years. He sent me copies of Dude's books .......said there should have been even more books printed as there was no shortage of stories!

That's a great read. There aren't many people in this world that are as dedicated to the pursuit of anything as he was to the pursuit of world titles.

My favorite part was when he had to go to court for bulldoggin' an elk off of a snowmobile. The prosecuting attorney was trying badger him and asked him kinda smirky if he was proud of himself for the act! Ty replied something like "Hell yes I'm proud! How many folks do you know that have bulldogged an elk!" He paid the fine for wildlife harrassment!

That sounds a little far fetched, even for Murray.

There is a Native fella here who was 'dogging mountain goats from his snowmobile and tying ribbons on their horns until the Parks Warden suggested he probably shouldn't be doing that. So..... he started 'dogging moose and castrating and earmarking them. :D
He is a couple years younger than me and has settled down a bit to only half-wild now.
