Winter wheat

Pertnear, you are such a dipstick. The term "rancher" under their name simply means they have more than 1000 posts, has nothing to do with their occupation.

Now that's funny. You might notice the time of this post. Snowstorm plus calving equals checking in the middle of the night equals rancher.

By the way, some of us follow the weather in all of the world and time our marketing's of many commodities including beef accordingly. There are correlations between legume protein and red meat protein and drought and feed supply and earth quakes and veggie supply and frost and OJ supply. The world is a complicated place that is affected by more than subsidies. A big enough shortage in a few places in the world can be a signal to jump on an opportunity. I suppose if your uncle Sam (I'm assuming you're American) hands out subsidies then someone in American can profit from a Midwest drought. The rest of us look at a more free market style of operating by producing a commodity that could be short.

I had a ball. I understand if you have livestock you are a rancher .but if you farm and feed some of what you raise farming that still ranching . Then on the other side if you farm and you buy a critter you become a RANCHER .

So what do you like to define yourself as? Are you a rancher or just merely a member of an Internet site. :?

To answer your wheat question,

Everything around central and western Oklahoma is turning blue. In my opinion it is too far mature and headed out to turn around even if we got a rain 3 days ago. I think someone already mentioned the total losses in the SW part of the state.

I hope you and many others can make a crop, otherwise I worry food shortage and then what will happen with cattle prices and what kind of world unrest will happen this next year.
