Woohoo, finally open

Well, its open. I guess you're right about the Rubishkin (whatever) family not being anybodies' first choice. What I know about Stanko is not real flattering, but the cow kill plant was great for the region. The kosher plant doesn't employ nearly as many workers, and there aren't many sheep, goats, chickens and turkeys grown in the Sandhills. Are you referring to something else about the kosher plant?

Do you know where the old rendering works are north east of town? A mile east of the north east corner of the airport. The kosher packer management is dumping giant boxes of sheep hides and whatever nastiness I don't know within the walls of the rendering plant. No roof on the plant and no doors, consequently its an open air dump. I'm not at all fond of this practice and suspect its illegal.

Do you know if the governments gave them a bunch of concessions to open it...If they (the Rubishkin's) are the one I'm thinking of they like to play the get concessions, pocket the profits, close the doors and move game...Much like Stanko's cut every corner known to man and then invented a couple more.....Not really interested in being in business to help build the community.....

I had no idea about the rendering works I would agree one would think that this would be illegal with the strict rules the government puts on feedlots on how to deal with waste.

I was refering to the fact anyone must be able to work there bringing in some undesireables to the communities and no I'm not talking race so don't even go there I'm talking crimes.

OT Yes, there was a heap of inducement money, partly because the plant is very close to the poorest rez, As I understand it, the kosher plant in Iowa has some protests because of kosher kill methods - I think they need Gordon. It sounds like you're privey to some of the stanko mischief - funny thing is stanko sorta dislikes Jews, and they took over the packing plant.

CattleRme, I'm sure law enforcement will have new challenges, but some of the new employees went from unemployed mischief makers to too tired to make mischief meat cutters.

I just don't like the idea of any business in rural America giving someone that is convicted of harming innocent a job and a reason to stay. :x
