Almost 2000 miles this week, Preston Id, Bluffdale Utah, Idaho Falls Idaho , Monday and Tuesday, Did get a lot of baling done Monday between a trip and the start of the next. Wednesday I did get a lot of hay stack, and got a call that the injector pump was fixed, had my sister pick it up as she come up to see mom on thrusday.3:30am Thursday Rex has us up and the truck is packed so we drive him to Laramie and drop him off at the dorms. Drive over to Cheyenne and drop into the hospital to see a friend whose appendixes burst last week. Drive up to Douglas and pitch a tent at a KOA.
Friday realize we are too old to camp. We play tourist for the day and go to Fort Fetterman, Ayres natural bridge then to Casper and bought a camping mattress. But it was close to 100 degrees so we got a motel room, went to a French Creole Restaurant, am not impressed with Frog legs.
Saturday, called home they finally got the swather going, was going up south pass and cell phone rings needed swather parts , well I was betting the implement dealer in Riverton was closed Saturday afternoon so we kept going. Went out into the Desert below the Wind River Mountains to the summer headquarters of a sheep ranch, there was a nice crowd there to celebrate the ranches 100 years in operation.
Drinks and a great spread out of the big garden, buried Dutch ovens of Lamb roasts, beans, Lamb chops hot off a grill, Lamb oysters, Soda bread hard rolls, don't know all the names for the breads and cookies, Apricot pie.
Sue and I crawled into the pickup and waddled home getting there about 10:30….
Haying! It has started to rain here , 40% then 30% change most all week…

Jody, I ain't even gonna attempt to keep up with you! All that being on the go wears me out to think about it! :D The lamb feed sounds delicious! Are these the mouth watering smileys? :P :P :P

On the injector pump you had rebuilt, did ULSD diesel fuel have anything to do with its demise? I'm kinda leery using this new diesel in my older engines without adding some kind of lubricity additive. Though it can present problems of its own, the co-op guys say adding 2-5% bio to diesel is supposed to add the best lubricity available. But they don't seem to be able to get bio fuel anymore or at least not enough demand for it. :?

Yes Jody, I have several of those Lucas/CAV/Simms pumps myself on FORD tractors. So far, so good here. Be sure to change the oil in the injector pump at every engine oil change if that applies to your pump. I'm told that is very important.

Had .35" of rain this morning, so didn't mind driving to Preston for parts for the swather. The reel bar that needed the bearing was in the shop so used the torch to get one out and got the other one with a hammer and chisel. Took it down the meadows and got it on, noticed there was a nut missing on a stud of another bearing so went back to the shop, parked in the barn yard across the road and as I walked up to the shop noticed tracks in the mud from this morning going onto the highway, and around the shop next to my fuel tank..... Figure there was around 150 gallons they took. Deputy came and took pictures of the tire tracks and there were some boot prints around the tank. Mom went to SLC yesterday so nobody has been around there
