It is pretty overrated country. A good ole cowman that we knew always said it was the most over-rated country in Montana. It truly is a swamp.
Gene Potter is where we ran our cows. His wife was a Hirschy. They were really good people. Gene was a good team roper, but because it was so boggy in that country, he and some other guys devised how to head and heel the yearlings with 4 wheelers. They had a dally post built on the back of the 4-wheeler and they "got 'er done." (And a good time was had by all. )
Our good old neighbor in W. Montana that passed away Jan. 05, worked for Klemo's when he was young. And I think Brent Johnson, who taught for awhile at Buffalo, SD, was married to Diane Klemo.
Thanks for letting me know who it was you worked for.
Did you ever run into Mark Raymond? He was a great guy and really good hand.
Did you know Brent Munday?
