Are game wardens like law inforcement?
What would the reason be for the game warden to be called to auto accidents?
Do they have EMT training?
Can they write tickets say for speeding or running a stop sign?
Are there BIA game wardens or special game wardens?
How do game wardens work on the rez?
If game wardens can only go on tribal land why?
Thanks katrina :D

Katrina,

I'm not SH nor am I in law enforcement. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last nite!

"Are game wardens like law inforcement?"

Yes for the most part. They go to the same DCI school as other officers. I have been told that CO's can't make felony arrest but not sure if thats true.

"What would the reason be for the game warden to be called to auto accidents?"

CO's often respond to traffic accidents and help with traffic control etc... In many rural counties the there are very few law enforcement officers. A Sheriff, and perhaps a deputy, maybe a patrolman and a CO. All of which are probably not on duty at the same time. The CO may very well be the closest officer to the accident site. I dont believe they are required to do this but do so out of prefessional courtesy and a desire to asist fellow officers as well as the public.

"Do they have EMT training?"

Good question...not sure. But I dont believe so as a rule.

"Can they write tickets say for speeding or running a stop sign?"

Yes they could. But few do. Although some do write a lot of DUI's. I suspect this sort of stuff depends on the CO's personal interest in such matters.

"Are there BIA game wardens or special game wardens?"

I know some of the reservations have their own wardens. Not sure if all do.

"How do game wardens work on the rez?"

This varies depending on the views/policy of the tribe. On most the CO's can only work deeded land.

Josey never missed a beat answering your questions Katrina.

I can't add anything to Josey's accurate answers to your questions.

Thank you Josey and keep that gun clean.
