    Rancher- Did you float away?

We finally got just a little rain last night. Very dry up here, no moisture at all for about 3 or 4 months. Lot of the grain was laying in dry ground. This might help, not sure if it was enough, but will take anything we can get. The grass really needed a drink also, just totally brown. Calling...

    Dry and Dusty

It is pretty dry and dusty here. Started seeding and not sure if all of it will start without a rain. Wind blew about 50-60 MPH the other day and lots of dirt in the air. We have been very lucky to get rain in the past few years, so maybe it is our turn to be dry. I think rain is the best thing...

    Less wheat more peas?

Most of the time you just need to separate them into pens. Some of the time you have to put the cow in a chute and let the calf milk. Usually do that a couple days and she will start talking to the calf and you are on the way to a happy pair for the rest of the summer.

    Less wheat more peas?

Heard on the news intended wheat seeding acres lowest since 1973. They said the last time it was this low a lot of the famers wasn't born or at least not farming yet. Everybody in NE Mt is going to seed pulse crops( Peas and Lentils) because of high fertilizer prices. Maybe a guy should seed all...

Ranchwife I really wish you guys could get some good snow in the Mountains. Old Fort Peck Lake is going to be a big hole in the ground soon. They are starting to talk even possible limited irrigation below the dam this summer. How do you do for stock water, is it OK when dry. Is there enough...

    Snow,Fog and Overcast!!

How is everybody else doing for moisture? It has been snowing for about a week now. Not a lot of moisture in it, but it will help. I think I have calves a week old and yet to see the sun!! Might have to put sunglasses on them if it every comes out. I see why people that live in Washington and...
