Hi guys, I need some ideas on what to feed the "boys" for weaning and fall processing. I'm drawing a complete blank really... I do know from experience that anything too fancy gets left for me to clean up. :)

Nope, not this year. Talked to a friend in Duchess and they said it was the usual good time. Used to live a few minutes South of the grounds on the Bar 4T. We had a lot of good times out there in Patricia. :D

Sorry for being rather vague about the terms. It seems everyone calls it something different. We are currently putting up silage that is chopped, hauled to a pit, packed and covered in plastic. We would like to bale the crop at a high moisture content and then wrap the bales in plastic.

The ranch we are at currently puts up silage and hay to feed the cow herd over the winter. With all the breakdowns and labour costs associated with silaging, we are entertaining the thought of switching over to haylage. I would certainly appreciate any thoughts or opinions that the ranchers...

With Ranch Manager, can I attach a RFID reader and scan each cow as they come through the chute to have the records come up? Will the program identify the cow by her RFID tag and the numbered herd tag?

Your cows sure are in good shape. Have they just been eating swamp hay all winter? If so, you MUST tell me your secret! They look awesome! Do you have many c-sections during calving? What was the malfunction with that cow? Good luck with calving this year!

It just so happens I have a dandy of a story that will fit right into the "abuse" category. We had just moved some pairs earlier in the day and were out on the quads checking to make sure no calves had tried to slip back. Sure enough, one calf was hightailin' it back and my partner in crime...
