    Montana

Yup, speaking of trains. The track from Plentywood to Scobey is now a storage site for old rolling stock and same for branch line out of Glendive. No wonder, Not going to be many opportunities for RR employment. Soon to be the 2 main lines and that is pretty much it.

    Montana

You would probably have to settle for half the pay. some jobs in energy, oil fields etc. Truck driving. That's why Montana has less then 1 million people. If there were lots of opportunities we would surpass California in population. :???: Whoops, I momentarily forgot about our...

how does everybody manage older cows?

I don't see the point in trying to get one more calf out of the old cow. At first sign of going down hill they go. Sell them when you wean the calf. Even better is to wean early and get into the Aug-Sept high cull cow market.

    Haymaker

Our native range has Buffalo grass, holds nutrients when dormant. Cows will do good all Winter. Trouble is it only grows up to about 8 inches tall. Get a foot of snow early like this year and grazing is about done until the South slopes melt off.

I like the looks of the cows in the first pic, green lush grass and their looking around. Full, can't take another bite. :D

    Winter Visitors

I don't think we would want a bunch of hungry eagles around a newborn. We don't see them up here very often. I think to far from the river.
