Beef: It's What You Can't Afford For Dinner

Price is affected by supply vs consumers likes and disposable income. Supply is affected by cost of production vs retail price of the product. The difference between us in agriculture and any other industry is we do not directly control price or supply. As a result we don't have total control...

AMERICA - Designed by Geniuses, Run by Idiots

We live in a Country that is all talk and no action. When you reelect a representative like Nancy Pelosi ( sp) who says you have to pass a bill to see what's in it ..... , we have seen the enemy and it is us.

    You in the sandhills.

Here in NE TX in a normal year it takes about 5 acres per year. But if we don't have a normal year pretty soon may have to adjust that number up quite a bit. The big drawback here is we have to fertilize to keep our pastures and hay meadows productive. Gets pretty costly.

Another old time story from the Bar T ranch

Great story Soapweed. Reminded me of a greyhound I had as a teen ager. A neighbor gave her to me. I named her Rex. We'd chase jackrabbits me horseback. Had lots of fun. One day she was chasing a jackrabbit across the road and hit by a car. I had to shoot her. That was tough for a teen.

    Million cows left Texas

Dr. Ron Gill , cattle specalist from Texas A&M reported at a Cow Calf clinic in Winnsboro this week that close to a million cows left Texas in 2011 due to the worst drought on record. Approx. 250,000 are in Nebraska and quite a few more in S.D. Don't suppose that as soon as we can grow some...
