Little H's first turkey

Thanks for posting the hunt 'H. Great to see families out enjoying nature. If you weren't so far away we could swap hunts, my kids are about the same age. We have a bear site we call "13". Because it's a good set-up for two stands the average age of the shooter is 13.

This should go in the hunting area but...

Good for the boy and his step dad. Too often bucks that get this big are taken under 'suspicious' circumstances by some blow hard. I hope they can avoid the rumor fuelled jeolousy that's the ugly side of deer hunting. Thanks for sharing Denny

    Boy's first pup

Deer season is underway here and my 11 year old is wishing his life away (got to be 12 to hunt). We posted at a dead cow and he zipped this guy with his .22. Another 10 or 15 and we'll be in the money

    no longer starvin'

So I had this guy spotted before the season. He was in the same corner of a big field for two nights in a row before the opener. I went in the day before and set up a little blind complete with a sawhorse shooting bench and sandbag. Like fish in a barrel. I'm walking in in the dark opening...

     got him![/img]

    All worked up.....

I'll look for him on the opener, but by 5 minutes after daylight any legal bull is going to take a dirt nap. Legal here is a 6 inch spike on one side. I've shot some big bulls and putting 500 pounds of meat through a crock pot gets old.

    All worked up.....

....and no place to go hunting. Got a call yesterday to take my brother in law to find an elk. Yesterday was the last day of archery season. 5 o'clock he calls and cancels, bow trouble. Well I'm all dressed up so decide to go out anyway. Walked through a ravine in the mist and topped out to...

Is any one as excited to hunt this year as I am??

I was too busy, lazy, fussy etc. last fall and never shot a thing. We've run out of meat in the freezer, never recall having that happen before. Might have something to do with four growing kids. I haven't been unlucky enough to kill an edible beef yet, sometimes can salvage a bloater or...

    Deer Season is over

That's a dandy buck. Glad you waited till hunting season so you can brag a bit. Probably got some jelous hunters on your hands. They can take turns making you breakfast next year in exchange for your "hot" stand. My wife shot a big 6x6 whitetail in our back yard a few years ago. She had to...
