    lease bulls

That's very possible--either I or my Dad, I know he talks with Wade more than I do at the bull sales. The website needs some new pictures and updates for 2011, but thank you. Maybe after calving season I can get after it. Jorgensen's online version of the catalog is now available so I've...

    lease bulls

We have been a multiplier herd for Jorgensen's for about 20 years and I always like looking at Risse's pens of bulls. They really do a nice job. They always buy out of the front end of the bull sale as well....usually all the ones I'm after! :)

    lease bulls

I don't know for sure how it works, but I think you have the option to buy your lease bulls at the end of the season from Jorgensen's as well, with the summers lease price going towards the purchase price if you decide to buy. If anyone ever has a chance to stop and see the Jorgensen operation...

    Integra Moss or Bio Moss

We began feeding Integra-mos from Ralco Nutrition last year. Our problem in years past hasn't been as much typical scours--we use a variation of the sandhills calving system and have plenty of room to keep the pairs spread out and constantly moving. Our problem has been baby calves wanting to...

A new slant on selling bulls

Very sharp website with good pictures and information on the bulls selling. I think you will get along fine with the private treaty setup.

    Freeze Branding

Once when I was up there they did 400 head of bulls in one day...but having 2 Silencer chutes sure speeds things up when one guy can prep them and the next chute just has to put the irons on.

    Bred Heifer Prices

Too bad the weather didn't cooperate with the sale better Soapweed. We are selling some bred heifers this week, but I'm not sure what to expect for a price. They have been all over the board. They had open bwf replacement heifers in Burwell last week that weighed 676# and brought 1.40 to...

Customer ranch visits and photos of their cattle

Keep up the good work BRG....the cattle look good but from the sounds of it your customer service is definitely top notch as well.

Went to a bred heifer sale today, Dec 20, 2008

Dollar/lb. has been catching about everything this way too--I think there is going to be a lot of guys calving heifers that weren't planning on it....

    Cattle and Kid

The fall calves look real good. Will you put most of them on grass for the summer or how do you market them? Just curious if you don't mind me asking.

    Branding Season is here...part 1

I enjoyed the pictures. It's always nice to get the calves worked and then out to grass. Hope the weather straightens out soon and gets warmed up so the grass can get to growing. Thanks for sharing.

    Caking calves this morning

The calves look to be in good condition-- a little cake really seems to help this time of year. Those dentist visits sure aren't fun or cheap-but hopefully they can get "Chip" fixed up. Went to the dentist the other day- $55 just for the "office visit." Thanks for sharing the photos.

    Freeze branding???

We will be freeze branding our spring '07 replacement heifers in the next week or two. We usually try to do the heifers between 10-12 months of age. You can brand your bred cows without complicating pregnancy. The only thing with a bred cow is you wouldn't want to try and freeze brand a cow...

Red Herefords and green soapweeds look Christmassy

Thanks for the pictures Soapweed. Nothing beats a really nice gift you made yourself for someone you care for. I don't think he could've bought anything in a store to get that kind of a smile out of her. Hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas.
