Airstream....update pics

Katrina...did you see the picture of the trailer I posted in the first post I made? It's really busy. Gawdy in fact. That's the look I'm goin for. But maybe not quite as frew frew as that.??? I have several different pieces of fabric I've bought for upholstry. But I don't know exactly how I'm gonna place it out. Since there is a couch to do....as well as we are building a booth table for it...that'll have cushions. They may be all different....don't know yet. I'm kinda playin it by ear or eye lol as I go along.

Last night I had a painting accident. Painting over something I didn't like....and dropped my can of yellow paint.....which when it hit the floor...the paint went UP...and all over one of my red walls, plus a bunch of it on the floor. Got that cleaned up....and gave up for the night...

Then went at it again this mornin....this is what caused the repaint. The top picture....I was goin for a rug look....never got to the flower part...because the more I looked at it...the more it looked like Christmas. So I painted yellow over it (when the spill occured) And then got busy again today on it. I like it a whole lot better now!!!

Here's where all these different paint jobs join up. It's on the side wall....where the roundness stops. LOL

Where the turquoise stripe is....there's gonna be a booth.

That's pretty incredible Jersey!! These are stencils your using? Looking nice! Don't mind the painting accident; it happens to us all at some point.

I figured with our paying up to $110 for a 4x5 round bale, East Texas ought to be doing pretty good! :D

Yes it's mostly stencils. Some of it I've made my own sponge stamp and used that. But over all most of it is stencils I've bought. then alot of hand highlighting.

Fixin to cut loose tomorrow and paint leopard print free hand on the yellow walls that have nothing on them yet. Then....after that the only thing left to paint will be the doors of the upper cabinets. But I won't do that until we rebuild the sink/stove side and get those back up.

Ok the last painting I've done. Yes Spots...leopard spots!!! But most of them will be covered up by a table/booth area in that section. I've only got the upper cabinet doors left. But will wait to do those because one whole side must come down while the lower cabinets are rebuilt. I think I can rest for a while now on the painting front. Maybe get started on the couch reupholstery job. :) I'm ready for something other than painting for a while.

Well I've made that last seam (after workin on it until 3 am this mornin)...put the foam rubber back in....all zipped up. And now I hafta take it all back out again because it's a little big on the back cushion. When I took the old covers off...I noticed that some seams were 1/4 inch...and some were 1 1/2 inches. Don't know why it was done like that...but that's not how I sew. I try to have uniform seams everywhere. So....I now have to take it in about 2 inches on the underside of the back to make it fit. Was hoping for a first time fit. But that never happens anyway. So I'll pull it all out and then put it all back in a bit. Needed a break....Wrestlin those 6 ft long foam rubber pieces will wear ya out~!!!! LOL

hour later.....

All out...made some modifications...and wahlahhhhh all back together again. And it fits!!!! Yay!!! Im not real crazy about that pillow on the right tho....Not likin it. Or it needs somethin added to it. Oh.......I know.....More gawdy!!! that's it!!!! hahahaha

That's really pretty. But I don't knit. Never learned how. Looks very similar to a Granny's Flower Garden quilt. Thanks for sharing. :)

Well finally there is something you don't do ... :lol2:

The cover you made is gorgeous Jersey Lilly ! Is the trailer all finished now ?

LOL Hillsdown....yeap don't knit. And no desire to learn how. I did try once.....oh..and I tried learning to tat once too...all I could make was knots of string. But I do crochet.

No...far from finished. We are rebuilding the kitchen cabinets....then moving on to the bath. It needs some work. It's all functional....just not pretty in any way shape or form. We also have some plumbing to do....the freshwater tank is no good....and it goes under the couch. We've priced the new plastic ones....$104 (not a bad price) but....it doesn't come with any fittings....shipping is $75 and having the fittings put in at the RV place is $125. Mr Lilly said, "forget plastic...I'll just build one out of a sheet of stainless" LOL

After sewing the arm rest cover of the couch together.....and digging thru some of my sewing stuff...tryin to find something to dress the ugly pillow up (the one on the right....I"m not likin it...blends in too much)...I sat down with this.....my choices.

My intentions were....to make a square to go in the middle of the pillow. Crochet hook in hand...I set to it.

2011-09-30-003.jpg

Got about an 8 inch square done....and thought..nope needs more....so used the lil fluffy stuff. (I don't know how anyone could ever make anything out of that.....because once you make one pass crocheting...you can't tell where you'd stick your needle to go another round.) But I got one round on.

It's gawdy...but didn't look right on the pillow....I'd been eyeballin a little lamp I have on my kitchen table the whole time I was making the square. Thinking...that lil lamp would look good in the trailer.......

2011-09-30-006.jpg

I have a small night stand that I am planning on gawdyin up to put in the trailer...and I think this lil lamp...settin on that lil do dad I made...will look cute. Honestly I am working on the ugly pillow. But I don't have any pictures of it right now....I've taken the pillow completely apart....and quit for the night when the sewin machine ran out of bobbin. Grrrrr hate it when it does that in the middle of somethin. I WILL finish the pillow! I will. LOL

And the pillow.....it's not so ugly anymore. As I dug further into my stash of sewing supplies. I ran across three of these quilt blocks. My mother had given them to me before she passed away. My great grandmother made them. They are all sewn together by hand...and the little squares are about an inch square, and never made it into a quilt. So I thought..why not....have a lil bit of all my peoples in my travels. :)

Don't believe me??? haha...it is the ugly pillow...I just covered ALL of one side up. But with the red ruffle....the ugly side's not as ugly as it was.
