Alberta weather.

We'll went to sleep last night, with two inches of snow on the ground and lots of wind, woke up to a 5:30 phone message from the school district,no school/snow day.Looked out the window foot plus of snow and dumping, suppose to get up to a foot and a half of snow for the day  .Winter storm warnings, snow down to 900 feet, even some snow close down by Sacremento,Ca :? .And the worst part is our well pump went out yesterday, can't get one from Carson City,Nevada till tuesday afternoon, and my backhoe is at the other property  .Should be one heck of a few days. They say this storm system is coming down from Canada thanks you guys  and a Pacific ocean sytem together  I'm drinking coffee, but maybe i should just start with hard liquor this morning.

I was always taught that sharing was being kind.

Hope you get your water straightened out, there is no bigger inconvenience in our pampered modern world that not have water run out of the tap.

Every day is a holiday BBRoo, just some are better than others. :D

Thanks for the kind words Gcreek,if you can't beat the weather join it.Pond finally frooze solid, gonna do some ice skating today and forget all my worldly woes

Spent yesterday afternoon being a water mechanic, and failed. Got 140 calves in the corral with nothing to drink. Hopefully today I get it figured out. Dang jet pumps can drive a guy to distraction.
Nothing like playing with water and small parts when it's -35 :?

I actually had to chop a water hole yesterday. Below -30 and our spring fed creek will freeze over.

Sounds like that's the water you should be using in you radiators :D

It is the law of logic, things always need fixing in the crappiest, coldest weather, especially if it includes water.

Our block heater on the skid steer crapped out yesterday, great timing for that to happen. It will be a pain in the butt to get at and replace too.

20 Below here this morning- but luckily no wind YET....I'm waiting for it to warm a little and then hook up the trailer to haul some cows in for tomorrows bred sale...Weather boys say it could get up to 1 ABOVE--but they are also predicting the wind to come up...

From looking at the temps in the paper- I guess I shouldn't complain....

Tuesday delivered the worst of the worst temperatures with Conrad reporting a morning low of minus 36, Havre 35 below and Great Falls a relatively balmy negative 28.

I wish you guys would of kept the snow and wind out there. We have had around 6 inches since daylight with a modest wind. They are projecting winds upto 50 mph late today and night. What hapeen to that gobal warming? The cattle are under shelter today enjoying a break from the wind and snow. I am not looking forward to going out to open up driveways.

Temp was much nicer today--was 2 Above at 6 AM :) - and got up to about 12 ABOVE :D today when I headed to town this morning- but the wind was coming up which made the windchill about 26 Below...

Half the north country neighors- and many of the south Missouri folks were at the Bred cow sale today.....One of the Bankers sat right behind my cousin and I and told us to buy, buy, buy.....Lots of folks there- but most sitting on there hands- probably mainly because of the shortage/price of hay in the country and the unknown of what the winter will bring.. Many been feeding since Nov 1...

Top 3 year old 1185 lb second calvers out of a nice angus based commercial herd dispersions sold for $1000 or less....
4's about the same-5's $975- 6-7-8- 9's were around $750 to $790--Solid mouth 10s around $630- and Broken Mouth Short termers were $535- $585 on those that sold while I was there....These were all out of 150-300 head dispersions...Sevral dispersions were the same price.....

A 300 head bunch of trader 3-4 year old cattle brought in by the fellow that bought my "witch from hell" cow last week on speculation couldn't get above $950-- and the guy (buyer/speculator) took them home wanting $1050 ( which he will probably get if he holds them to about Feb)....

Hinman Angus had in 15 purebred heifers and 20 3-4-5 year olds that were ultasounded and selling commercialy -- that I was curious what they would bring-- but when I left after a couple hours of sale- they were still an hour or two from selling ...One of those sales where they sell bred cows half the night...I used to get some of my best buys close to midnite

Only bad thing about this weather is that they are saying this warm stuff might be just a teaser- and then the Canucks will let down another polar front about Sunday/Monday and put us back to 20 BELOW for a couple days before the long term warm up starts happening...

Wish you Canadians would have kept that cold weather up north... 25 Below here this morning and they're predicting colder tonight -32 to -36...

But they are still saying 20 ABOVE for Wednesday....Gotta see it to believe it...

You guys gotta either put a good stiff import duty on that stuff or get rcalf on the case to slam the border right shut. An obvious case of dumping, I am sure  :D
It warmed up here a little overnight, I've got a reading of about -38. Supposed to be pretty balmy here by thursday, up to -6 by friday.
