Check Him Out

He looks to be really full of meat.
But why would you breed 30 cows for 90 days?
Or why would you even need to?

Ya they said "Running with 30 cows for 90 days"

You'd think they were in the Missouri breaks or the badlands.

So AG how long do you leave your bulls our with the cows?
They go to Pasture end of May may bringing them home next weekend. You?

I put them out July 10 and picked the bulls with the hfrs up in 30 to 35 days and the cows get the bulls on the 10th and they are picked up by the 10th of September. I used to only leave them for about 45 days but with BSE open cows were worthless so I stretched it some but still like a fairly tight calving. It keep the calves more even and helps with the work load altho we don't check the cows much as they calve in the hills mostly.

Myself I just pregcheck early enough that if they show up bred they are bred early. I still think he's a good chunk of a bull.

Didn't say he wasn't a chunk of a bull but who were they trying to impress with the 30/90 statement. With all the electric fence in the pictures it didn't look like he could get a 100 yards from the cows.

He is a good bull, but he hasn't worked very hard, so he should be in good condition. I was thinking the same thing about the 90 day deal. No matter how many cows he is with, why 90 days. When they sell those calves, their will be as much as a 270 lbs spread, or put it this way, this year their would be $350 difference.

Without a picture of his feet and testicle's He just looks like an average bull to me. This country is full of bulls in good flesh some have good calves some have great calves. With good grass our mature bulls don't lose condition breeding cows they don't have to travel much.He look's like a fine enough bull but nothing that makes my heart flutter. You can see the same thing at the kill pen everyweek here.
