Please escuse my ignorance. U know what they say about us crackers. Were all about half ignernt. Last but not least, I'm a christian. I had no business talkin that way.

Chuck we'll see you on the fertile side of the Jordan where the grapes of Eschol grow and where the land flows with milk and honey. We'll have plenty of time to get to know each other and sort some stock then. Sleep well old buddy. You answered the only important question.
Heaven will be sweeter because of him.

He will be sorely missed, and I feel like my life is better for having known him even if only through the computer screen.

I'll sure miss Cowhunter's stories, but I'll bet his new audience will appreciate swapping a few. My hat's off to the good fight, well fought. Condolences from out this way.

Condolences to the family from the northern sticks. Cowhunter was a bright star in our little cyber community.

Now he'll have his chance to dance the Highland Fling and show some Scotsmen a few other steps...........

And also dressed up in them kilt mini skirts and werein no drawers and doin that jumpy dancein to some good old timey scottish poka music. Why don't me and u make the treck back over to the old country? I got a little scot blood in me. I'd love to go to one of them dances and learn them the okachobee stomp and the boar hog grind. U set it up and we'll go. Tell them to have plenty of good whiskey ready when we lite down. We'll stay about a week or 2. Or till they run us off.

Rest easy Pardner, we'll all meet up again. :tiphat:

I just logged on to find...this... I think he endeared himself to all of us here and found a common kinship on this forum. He will be missed.

On Feb. 11, 2010 he sent me this and asked me to share it if something happened to him. I am honoring his wishes and posting it here as he requested.

"But I live in the real world. I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I've not always live a good life. But for the last 15 or so, give or take a few. I've been a good father, a good mentor, taught youth sunday school with my wife and give a ton of money to poor folks. I love youngins and they love me. They all call me uncle chuck. I've been in more fist fights than I care to think about. Mostly over some body needin it. But I have got drunk and started plenty to. I'm not bragin, I'm not. But I never took a ash wippin. I needed to, but somehow I always got the better. If I die, will u save this and post it for me? There might be more. But if u don't won't to, I understand. I sure like to read your post."

Goodbye Cowhunter. You fought the good fight and now you are with
your Savior, at peace at last.

Condolences to your family. I know they have many happy memories of your time with them.

Geez I just logged on and found this as well. Sad news but I am sure he is in a better place and I am sure it won't be the same here or there. :D
I still chuckle about the first time he posted here and the post got moved and he called us a bunch of yankee's. Thing got smoothed out and he entertained us and taught me how to post pictures so well I got so I didn't even have to ask Tam every time.
My condolences to his family, I could tell how proud he was of his kids and his wife. I always looked forward to see the pictures he sent me to post as he usually had the story posted before I got them up.

I bet you got a good little cracker horse up there riding herd.
we'll miss ya old buddy. :(

Happy Trails

Ol' cowhunter was a one of the "good ol' boys", God be with him and his loved ones, hang his spurs from the chandolier, remember and honor him for what he was, not what he wasn't. peace be with you.

There's fewer and fewer of us crackers left in this state and today we remember a good one. Remember the stories, as pretty soon it may be all we have left down here.

God's peace be with the family.

I'm sending my prayers & condolences to Cowhunter's Family. We here at Rancher's will certainly miss your stories; thank you for sharing yourself, your way of life & your corner of God's creation.

John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
