How many of you has a Facebook page or pages? My wife talked me into it about a couple of months ago and now I have people wanting to be my friend that went to high school with 25 years ago. How in the world does these people find you? I guess if you have a facebook page look me up. Alvin Kmiec

She also has me doing Farmville. I wish farming was that easy. I would love building fence.

I use Facebook all the time (it's one of the four tabs I have opened on Firefox) to the point were i'm no longer e-mailing family as all of my family is on Facebook and it's a great way to reconnect with old classmates.

Look me up as well if you'd like: Jason Garnatz

I been doin facebook. Got started a month or so ago..and have found quite a few of my classmates. Much easier thru there than it is classmates.com

Plus there's alot of info on barrel races that's not out there everywhere else.

I don't do the farmville thing tho.

I sent you a request Trinityman

You can say that again. It is a small town gossip thing. I think the local news paper use it for their news of the week. You can find out who is sleeping with who for sure. I think that is how one of my friends got caught. Needless to say he is in the BIG D thing now.

Whatever you enter for your high school/college and year graduated. When I joined FB a couple of years ago, within seconds of joining, it suggested as a FB friend an old college classmate of mine who matched my major and year graduated.

My kids won't let me get on Facebook. They say that old guys like me are out of place trying to keep up with the young folks.

There is something to that.

My friends all know what town I live in. Except for college and a 1 year stint in the armpit of the free world, South Sioux City, I've lived here all my life. Had the same phone number since 1982, same cell number since 1992, lived at the same address since 1994. I'll bet there are many here with similar situations. If the only way they can "find" me is thru the damn computer, they are horribly mentally challenged and I sure don't need to hear from them! When you put all your bidness out on facebook or other crapola like it, you are asking for problems, IMO.

When you P.O. box is a single digit, most of your pals know where to find ya! Never tried it though several have invited us. Get my fix here. Havent the time to go elsewhere.

H, your last two lines fit the situation here.

I first disagree and then agree!!

I do not find it entertaining - I find a lot of it disgusting. I started to get into it but saw very quickly what it was turning into and that was it.

I did find it useful to stay connected with our daughter when she was in Zambia.

But you are 100% on the money with your "stupid people" comment.

It's a divorce lawyer's goldmine according to an article in the National Post.

Nah, you'd be surprised at what the Facebook demographics are. It was my Dad who suggested I sign up Facebook.

I've been on FB for about 10 months now... I do the farmville thing, mainly as a game ,trying to stay ahead of my friends. It does take up alot of time.I have caught up with some people that I never would have otherwise. We are going to set my 80yr old mother up with a computer in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if I want her on FB or not. I don't think I would have a problem with it but some of my nieces and nephews might. I do agree though, that there are those that want to share every thought that pops into there head.

You would be suprised how many of us older folks have facebook pages. My Dad who is older than you is making one. He says he has to find time to do it first LOL.
Its a great way if your family is far away and great time killer with farmville and zoo world.

Facebook is a great way to share positve ag videos links with friends and fellow face book junkies. A challenge for those on facebook share a new ag freindly video link on your facebook page weekly.

there are good and bad aspects to it. like anything. but it is a fun way to keep up with what family is doing in other part of the world. had a cousin take a trip through Europe last year and we got to "go along"....

also with high school kids, it is a way to keep an extra eye on what is happening!

I also use facebook to keep track of the young people and family who otherwise wouldn't communicate. Certainly there are some that make me blush. My late seventies parents use it as well. Had to give up my farmville addiction because it was cutting into Ranchers time. :-)

I'm on there too. With the size of my family, it is an easy way to keep track of most of my 10 aunts and uncles, almost all my many cousins and of course my other 6 siblings. Probably 80% of my friends are either my family or my husbands family.

Have most of my highschool mates on there too, which is nice, cause we never really kept in close contact, even though we did all get along fairly well. And of course a few other friends too.....

I like it although, I do agree some people should really remember to think before they open their mouths........

I've been on it for awhile now...thanks to one of my fellow ranchers  I don't post alot on it, keep track of what everyone else is doing. I do post pics on quite often. I must run with a quieter crowd cause there is no drama on my page...newspapers and divorce lawyers would be out of luck :P
