Good Sunday Mornin'

We have had some cattle over in the foothills this summer. I was going to get them out Friday after a blizzard on Thursday. The sun came out, and after we had them gathered and loaded, it was pretty muddy. I had to load on a slope, and even with chains, there was no moving that load out of its tracks. I unloaded the cattle, dropped the trailer. We dry lotted the cattle over night, and got up at 4 to be back up there by 6. The mud was frozen, and the cattle reloaded and hauled out without slipping a tire. Friday we were doing the right thing at the wrong time. Saturday the right thing at the right time and met with success. When scriptures admonish us to "wait on the Lord" perhaps the Lord is telling us that timing is important in our service to Him. The right thing at the wrong time is still wrong. We must do the right thing at the right time. We cannot accomplish that without fervently seeking His face on a daily basis. I know this, but why must I struggle so to get 'er done? Have a good Sunday mornin', and a great rest of the week too.

Thanks, Shortgrass.

A time to reap; a time to sow.
A time to make hay; a time to feed it in the snow.

If we listen, the Good Lord will nudge us in the right direction when the timing is right.

Or we can go it alone and just spin our wheels! Thanks Shortgrass! Great message which is pertinant as always. Isn't it amazing how waiting on the Lord makes life go so much smoother? :D

On Weds the Lord was our co-pilot getting calves out with a couple 20' stock trailers. Made it out the dirt/mud road after .50" of rain. That's what I call white knuckle driving! Would have been a mess if we had got the pickups/trailers stuff somewhere in between with a load of calves on.

Took the calves to the ranch HQ where they were loaded on a pot. Fresh gravel in front of the chute helped the pots get into position.

That message is especially pertinent to us all. Thanks for reminding us of doing things in God's time and at the same time not to get all worked up if it doesn't go according to our plan at first
